Description: A beginning competition rally class to begin training your dog in the foundational skills needed to successfully compete in AKC Rally Obedience.   This class will focus on understanding the rally signs and preparing students to compete in rally trials this summer.  

 

Rally provides an excellent introduction to AKC Companion Events for new dogs and handlers and can provide a challenging opportunity

for competitors in other events to strengthen their skills. AKC Rally is a companion sport to AKC Obedience. Both require teamwork between

dog and handler along with similar performance skills.

Class Requirements: Dogs must have attended a basic obedience class prior to the owner signing up for the class or have instructor's permission. Dog's will be asked to demonstrate a prerequisite of the following skills: sit, down, leash manners, and stay.

What to Bring:  Bring your dog, soft chewy treats in a side pouch or front pouch (hoodie type sweatshirts work great), 6ft leash (non-retractable), and an appropriate collar for your dog.​

 

​Class size is limited to 8, but there must be at least 4 students for the class to proceed. You must contact the instructor at rael@ptialaska.net to reserve your spot.
